Get Creative at NEST

Nest is Blairgowrie’s creative community hub, offering a warm welcome and building connections through crafts. 

The team at Nest has been passionate about improving wellbeing and reducing loneliness since 2016 and provides a space where people of all ages and abilities can come together to create, share and learn. 

As a proud not-for-profit social enterprise, the vision behind Nest is simple: to nurture an inclusive, thriving community where creativity shines, and everyone has access to enriching craft experiences. The workshops and groups are affordable - sometimes free when funding allows - so everyone can join in the fun.

If you’re new to crafts, there are workshops to suit everyone and there are also regular weekly groups including a Crafty Café, paper crafts, exploring art and Woolly Makers, as well as craft events throughout the year and a bit of community craftivism. 

It’s all about creating a warm, supportive environment where you can learn new skills, meet wonderful people, and leave with a spring in your step.

Nest also sells donated materials in the Remnants Shop - a real treasure trove for keen crafters - is a Frenchic chalk paint stockist, and showcases local makers in the gift shop, with all proceeds going towards funding craft activities.

By accepting donations of reusable craft materials for use in the workshops and other activities, as well as for sale in the Remnants Shop, Nest reduces the amount of waste going to landfill and supports a circular economy. 

Nest is also home to the Blairgowrie and Rattray Repair Café.
